Some Frequently Asked Questions:

In our FAQ section, we have the answers to your most pressing questions about the, "Empower Wicomico initiative," and any other questions you may have about us! I hope we will answer all of your questions!

What is Empower Wicomico?

"Empower Wicomico," is a group of Wicomico County's after school and out of school providers that have come together to bring awareness to the community as well as a voice for youth. Resource sharing and networking among providers is also bringing more efficiency to programs in a time of great need.

When did Empower Wicomico start?

Our committee formed in December 2012, so we are brand new. Those who are in the committee are "out of school time," providers  who are here to advocate for after school programs and  to network, share resources, brainstorm, and  creating opportunities to empower youth.

Who created Empower Wicomico?

"Empower Wicomico," as an idea, was created by Wicomico Partnership for Families and Children; the local Wicomico County Local Management Board. While brainstorming with their employed network providers, the idea was refined, readjusted, and born. Wicomico Partnership for Families and Children provides funding and is the leading agency that has identified the need for the "Out of School Time," providers to build this network.
